Pause in State of flux (2021)

salvaged cardboard, glue, aluminium scaffolding, location

Pause in State of flux consists of a cardboard skin which is cast over the interior of the site. The skin will collapse and degrade over the period of the exhibition and weekly this collapse will be “mended” through the use of scaffolding.

The cardboard is used to demonstrate the building’s inevitable return to entropy through its own certain return to the skip bin. This fight against the inevitable, through the mending, mimics the process of renovation and highlights architecture as an extension of ourselves.
